Effect of a Material Based on Date Palm Fibers on the Thermal Behavior of a Residential Building in the Atlantic Climate of Morocco

The potential of natural materials is becoming more and important as concerns about the environmental impact energy efficiency construction sector grow. Incorporating waste from fiber sub-products seems like a wise choice, in line with circular economy model. Despite fact that date palm have been extensively researched developed for use modern buildings, using fibers has not widely explored. This research intends to examine how thermal insulation affects building’s an Atlantic climate. An analysis numerical simulation TRNSYS software conducted determine effect this passive approach on cooling/heating loads indoor comfort. technique measured against hypothetical reference case homemade traditional building without insulation. results show significant air temperature cooling heating house. In comparison case, studied house achieves better comfort conditions when adopted since increased by up 3 °C winter decreased 5 summer. addition, annual requirements can be reduced 25% 18%, respectively, insulating roof walls materials. On other hand, it allows financial savings reduction CO2 emissions.
